Noodles with Black Bean Sauce

  • 1/5 cupof garlic
  • 1/4 cupof ginger
  • 1/2 cupof onions
  • 2 cupsof carrots
  • 1 cupof bamboo shoots
  • 1 cupof tofu
  • 2 cupsof cucumbers
  • 1/2 cupof green onions
  • 2 cupsof pork belly
  • 1/7 cupof oil
  • 1/9 cupof salt
  • 1/9 cupof pepper
  • 1/7 cupof brown sugar
  • 2/3 cupof garlic sauce
  • 1/3 cupof hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cupof rice wine vinegar
  • 2 cupsof chicken soup
  • 2 cupsof Taiwanese noodles


  1. Cut the garlic, ginger, carrots, bamboo shoots, cucumber (remove the middle part), tofu, onions and green onions. Next, cut your pork belly.

  2. Take a big pan, put it on a heat and add some oil. Next, add your cut onions. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Then, add your ginger and carrots and stir for 2 to 3 minutes. Add your bamboo shoots and tofu. Stir. Add the white part of green onions, garlic and some salt and pepper. Stir for another 3 to 4 minutes. Next, put your pork belly in the middle. Let it brown on both sides. It will take about 4 to 5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and about 6 to 7 tablespoons of black bean garlic sauce. Add 4 tablespoons of hoisin sauce. Stir well. Now add about 2 to 3 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar. Stir. The last ingredient to add is two caps of chicken soup. When it is boiling, turn down the heat and put the cover on. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes.

  3. Take another pan and add some water. Bring it to a boil. Add your Taiwanese noodles and cook for about 3 minutes.

  4. Take a plate and add the noodles, mixture from your pan, cut cucumber and cut green part of green onions. Enjoy!
