Ingredients

  • 1/8 cupof yeast
  • 1/2 cupof softened butter
  • 3 cupsof milk
  • 1 cupof sugar
  • 8 cupsof flour
  • 1/8 cupof cardamoms
  • 1/4 cupof cinnamon
  • 1/4 cupof egg
  • 1/10 cupof salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium-sized bowl. Add the milk and heat it until 98F. Pour half of hot butter-milk over the yeast. Next, add remaining milk, salt, sugar, cardamoms and flour. Mix everything thoroughly. Leave the dough in the bowl, cover it with towel and leave it to rest. It will rise. After that, roll the dough into big quadrate. Put the filling on top.

  2. For the filling, brush the quadrate with melted butter. Mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle evenly over the quadrate on top of butter.

  3. Roll the dough carefully two times. Cut the roll into pieces (less that 1 inch-wide). Cut each piece until the middle and wrap it in a knot. Brush it with butter and put pearl sugar and/or slivered almonds on top. Bake the buns at 475 degrees for 5-8 minutes or until lightly golden. Enjoy the meal!
