How to Roast Whole Pumpkins

  • 5 cupsof pumpkin
  • 1/3 cupof canola oil
  • 1/10 cupof salt
  • 1/10 cupof pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice of the top of the pumpkin and remove the guts and seeds from inside. Next, use a fork to make small holes inside the pumpkin all over the sides and bottom to allow the oil and seasonings to sink in and flavor the pumpkin as it roasts. Do not forget to do the same with a top. Brush the inside and outside with canola oil and season the inside with salt and pepper. Pay special attention to the rims. Place cut side down on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes.
