Corn Tamales

  • 2 cupsof sweet corn
  • 2 cupsof masa for tamales
  • 1 cupof butter
  • 1/2 cupof pork lard
  • 1/10 cupof salt
  • 1/10 cupof sugar
  • 1/7 cupof baking powder
  • 1 cupof banana leaves


  1. Take you sweet corn and cut the base.

  2. Peel of some of the outer cover.

  3. Make your corn clean.

  4. Next, cut the corners.

  5. Put your corn into a food processor and turn it on for about 10 seconds.

  6. Add 2 cups of masa for tamales, 1 cup of butter, baking powder, salt, sugar and pork lard.

  7. Mix your ingredients for about a minute.

  8. Take your banana leaves and put for a few second over the fire.

  9. Add your mixture to the banana leaves and fold them.

  10. Cook for about an hour in the steamer.

  11. Serve with some sauce and cilantro.
