Braised Pork Over Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cupof pork belly
  • 1 cupof shallots
  • 1/7 cupof garlic
  • 1/7 cupof oil
  • 1/4 cupof dark soy sauce
  • 1/4 cupof regular soy sauce
  • 1/2 cupof Shaoxing rice wine
  • 1/10 cupof five-spice powder
  • 1/2 cupof fried shallots
  • 1 1/2 cupof eggs
  • 1 cupof cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Cut your pork into thick matchsticks.

  2. Thinly slice 1 cup of shallots.

  3. Mince 3 large garlic cloves.

  4. Take a large pot, add a little bit of oil and fry garlic and shallots until fragrant.

  5. Next, add the pork belly and cook until no longer pink.

  6. Stir in the fried shallots until well combined.

  7. Next, add the Shaoxing sauce, five-spice powder, regular soy sauce and dark soy sauce.

  8. Add the water. Cover the pork belly with it.

  9. Bring it to a boil.

  10. Simmer for about 1 hour.

  11. Add the hard-boiled eggs in an hour. Stir well.

  12. Simmer for another 30 minutes.

  13. When eggs are browned, remove them and cut in half.

  14. Serve with rice, eggs and greens. Enjoy!
