Banana Leaf Pork Taco

  • 5 cupsof pork
  • 1/2 cupof achiote
  • 1/4 cupof rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cupof light beer
  • 1 cupof lime juice
  • 1/5 cupof salt
  • 7 cupsof banana leaves
  • 1 cupof shredded savoy cabbage
  • 1/2 cupof sweet white onions
  • 1 cupof tortillas
  • 1/5 cupof oil
  • 1/3 cupof mashed fried beans
  • 1/7 cupof spicy sauce


  1. Put your pork into a big bowl. Take another bowl and add some achiote, light beer and rice wine vinegar. Next, grade 5 cloves of garlic. Add 1/2 cup of lime juice and three tablespoons of salt. Pour this mixture onto your pork.

  2. Take your banana leaves and wrap your pork. Put it in a dish and put in a fridge for 24 hours.

  3. Next, put it in the oven until cooked. Take a bowl and add shredded savoy cabbage, cut sweet white onion, 1/2 cup of lime juice and some salt. Mix well.

  4. Take your tortillas and fry one by one on your pan in some oil. 2 minutes on both sides. Take a big tablespoon of mashed fried beans and put on your tortillas. Add a piece of pork and cover with your salad. Top with some spicy sauce.
