  • 4 cupsof diced chuck beef
  • 1/2 cupof plain flour
  • 1/5 cupof vegetable oil
  • 1 cupof sliced onions
  • 1/10 cupof sliced garlic
  • 1 cupof chopped thyme
  • 1/2 cupof tomato paste
  • 1 cupof red wine
  • 2 cupsof beef stock
  • 1/10 cupof Worcestershiresauce
  • 1/5 cupof cornflour
  • 1/2 cupof water
  • 1/4 cupof beaten eggs
  • 1/10 cupof salt
  • 1/10 cupof pepper
  • 2 cupsof puff pastry

  1. Put a pan on high heat. Season the meat very well with salt and pepper. Add some cornflour and mix. Add a good amount of olive oil to a pan and add the meat. Brown the meat. Take the meat out of the pan and put in a separate bowl.

  2. Add garlic and onions to the pan and cook them. Season your onions. Add thyme, as well. When the onion is brown, add the beef back into the pan. Also, add two tablespoon of tomato paste. Give the ingredients a good stir. Pour in wine, stock and Worcestershire sauce. Leave it for about two hours and let it simmer. Reduce the heat.

  3. Add two tablespoons of cornflour to a little bowl. Add a little bit of water and stir. Add that to a pan. This will help the meat thicken. Continue cooking until you feel that it starts to thicken.

  4. Spray your cooking pan with oil spray. Put a slice of pastry in it. Put a pie mixture into a baking pan. Preheat your oven at 180 degrees. Cover the pie with puff pastry. Put a couple of slits in the center of the pie. Put it in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
